Favorite Off-Time Activity
My favorite off-time activity is mentoring younger people. I advise college students at Yale School of Management and Fairfield University School of Engineering. I have tutored high school students, I’m giving a talk on Passion Projects to a California elementary school, and I coach Little League baseball. I always try to buildup their confidence: engineering is hard, baseball is hard. To be successful, they have to believe they can do it. I also focus on the importance of character. Good people want to work with good people!
Best advice
Spend time thinking about what you want and why you want it. Once you have set your objectives, be prepared to do what is necessary to achieve them. I’ll give you a hint, it usually entails hard work but if you’re pursuing something that is personally meaningful, it will make the hard work a lot easier.
