2019 PF Winners

Yale Lifesciences Pitchfest 2019, presented by the Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale, took place on Friday, December 6th at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. The top 32 biotech opportunities developing within Yale took the stage to present their 5-minute pitches to 16 industry judges and an audience of 350+ attendees, a nearly 20% increase from the previous year’s attendance. Over 100 companies and investment firms were represented.

In addition to advancing as Blavatnik Fund semifinalists, the presenting investigators competed for $4,500 in prizes which were awarded at the end of the day during the event reception.

After a private deliberation by the day’s judges, four faculty members took home cash prize awards in various categories:

  • Ranjit Bindra, M.D., Associate Professor of Therapeutic Radiology, won “Best Presentation” for his cancer-fighting drugs.
  • Peter Glazer, M.D., Chair of the Department of Therapeutic Radiology, won “Highest Potential Impact” for a new antibody-based gene editing technology.
