She currently serves as one of only five managing partners serving on the firm’s investment committee, which managed seven venture capital funds and one public fund (with greater than $2 billion in total assets) for life sciences investing in US and Europe.

“At this year’s Summit, I plan to discuss the scope for international collaboration to tackle some of the world’s largest health challenges,” Bingham said.  “SV’s portfolio companies have been collaborating successfully with Yale PIs in the fields of neuropathic pain and neurodegeneration, so I’m excited to see the announcement of the  Blavatnik winners to see how else we can help translate more of Yale’s cutting edge science into transformational drugs for patients.”

Bigham serves on the boards of companies across the world including in the UK, US, Ireland, Sweden and Germany. Her portfolio of investments includes small-molecule drug discovery and development projects, biotherapeutic development projects, and drug discovery platforms in a broad range of clinical areas.

“Kate is the perfect addition to our already incredible slate of keynote speakers,”  said Jon Soderstrom, Managing Director of the Office of Cooperative Research. “Building long-standing relationships with top tier funds like SV and it’s portfolio companies is immeasurably beneficial to our faculty and we’re looking forward to further developing our partnership. Kate brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to the table and as a keynote, Innovation Summit attendees can look forward to having her as a dynamic speaker and a well-known and respected industry leader with decades of insight to share.”
