Submitting an Invention

OCR encourages Yale faculty, employees and students to discuss scientific discoveries and possible inventions with our office as early in the research as is practical. Together we can explore important issues such as commercial potential and timing of public disclosures.

Ways to Submit an Invention

There are two ways to submit an invention disclosure to OCR:
NOTE: For PITCH disclosures, please follow the email instructions below to submit the Word file.

1. Online

Click “Submit an Invention” below and complete the invention disclosure form. When submitted, the form will be automatically forwarded to our database, and associates at OCR will be immediately notified of your disclosure by email. Please note: If you wish to access the Invention Disclosure online form from outside Yale, you must use a remote connection to the Yale network.

2. Email

If you prefer submitting an Invention Disclosure by email, please download this file and fill it out completely. Email the completed Invention Disclosure to Tina Muzzy.

If you have any questions about the Invention Disclosure Form or about the disclosure process more generally, please email Tina Muzzy or call her at 203-436-8097.
